Winter Haiku
In the winter everything becomes silent, simpler, monochromatic. I had been planning to travel to the Carpathian Mountains of Romania for a while, hoping for dramatic weather.
In January 2019 it snowed heavily and I found myself in the middle of a winter fairytale that created the perfect monochrome palette for artistic nature photography. In some locations, the snow was more than three meters high and that made photographing more difficult. These are a few of the winter images that I shot in the Northern and Eastern Carpathians.
This minimalist photography project was inspired by the great masters of Haiku poetry (Matsuo Basho, Issa… )
